What Shards is

One token. One screen. One tap to buy.

Shards is a token launchpad on NEAR. Anyone can make a token in one screen, and anyone can buy it in one tap.

You pay in the token’s pair and you are paid in it: NEAR, unless it was made with another. One contract holds the token, its price and its liquidity, and it is the only thing on the other side of your trade.

Every token trades on its own bonding curve, inside its own contract. The price comes from the curve rather than from an order book, so a token trades from its first second with nobody providing liquidity. When the curve has taken in twice its starting reserve (2,000 NEAR on a NEAR coin) the token graduates into a pool, and the liquidity there is locked.

The creator picks that pool when the token is made: a Shards pool, inside the token's own contract, or a Rhea pool, on Rhea, NEAR's largest exchange. Shards pool or Rhea pool sets the two side by side.

Every trade pays a tax the creator chose at launch, from 1% to 10% on each side, or up to 4% on a Rhea pool. The platform takes 20% of it and the creator divides the other 80%. On every token made since v2.5, each trade also spends its buyback share at once, buying the token back and burning it.

Every new token has a pair, chosen at creation: NEAR, SHARDS, RHEA, Zcash, Quantus, or one of 20 tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals and bond funds from Ondo. Its curve, its pool and every payout are in that pair, and so is the amount it graduates at. On every token launched since pairs arrived, half of the platform's 20% (10% of every tax) buys SHARDS and burns it.

The RWA page swaps NEAR for tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals and bond funds (Ondo) through NEAR Intents, and back. What arrives is the token, in your own wallet.

What it does not do

  • It does not vet tokens, creators, names or pictures.
  • It does not hold your assets, and cannot freeze, recover or refund anything.
  • It does not move a graduated token anywhere its creator did not choose. A Rhea-pool token graduates onto Rhea; every other token stays on Shards.
  • It does not lend, stake or pay a yield.

Tokens made here are memecoins. Most of them go to zero, the software is experimental, and using it means accepting the risk of using it. What can go wrong is the honest list, and it is the page to read before spending anything.
