In practice

Stocks and other chains

Buy stocks with NEAR. Bring coins in from anywhere.

Two doors next to the token list, both run through NEAR Intents, both straight to your own wallet.

Stocks with NEAR. The RWA page buys twenty tokenized assets from Ondo with NEAR, and sells them back to NEAR: eleven stocks (NVIDIA, Tesla, Apple and more), two ETFs, three gold and silver funds, and four US Treasury and bond funds. What arrives is the token, in your wallet, usually within a minute or two. Two approvals: the swap, then moving the token from your NEAR Intents account to your wallet. The page quotes you live. If a swap is too small for NEAR Intents market makers to fill, it says so before you sign and suggests $30 or more.

These are Ondo's tokens bridged from BNB Chain, held on NEAR as bnb-….omdep.near tokens. The bridge that issues them controls them and can pause or freeze them. Shards does not.

Coins paired with a stock. Paying for one with NEAR runs the same swap, then the buy: three approvals, usually a minute or two, and at least $30. Pay in what you hold has every pair.

Coins from other chains. The Swap page moves coins from other chains onto NEAR as NEAR, and NEAR out again. Zcash can arrive as ZEC, ready for a Zcash coin. Shards takes no fee on it, and you see what arrives before you send.

Neither one is a Shards coin, and neither goes through a coin's curve. They are the quickest way to hold what the coins here trade in.

Experimental software. Shards is non-custodial software provided as it is, with no warranties, by its contributors. By using it you accept the risk of using it.
