What do I need to trade here?
A NEAR wallet with some NEAR in it. That is enough to buy any coin here, whatever it trades in.
Can I buy stocks here?
Yes. The RWA page on shards.market swaps NEAR for tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals and bond funds (Ondo) through NEAR Intents, and back. What arrives is the token, in your own wallet.
Can I bring coins from another chain?
Yes. The Swap page on shards.market moves coins from other chains onto NEAR, and NEAR back out, through NEAR Intents. Shards takes no fee on it, and you see what arrives before you send.
Can a coin be paired with something other than NEAR?
Yes. A creator picks the pair at launch: NEAR, SHARDS, RHEA, Zcash, Quantus, or one of 20 tokenized stocks, ETFs, metals and bond funds from Ondo. The coin's price, its pool, its dividends and the amount it graduates at are all in that pair. A Rhea pool takes any pair.
Can I buy a RHEA coin with NEAR?
Yes. Choose NEAR in the trade panel: it is swapped to RHEA on Rhea's exchange first, then the coin is bought. That is two approvals, seconds each, and a new wallet approves a one-time setup first. The swap pays Rhea's 0.3% pool fee on top of the coin's own tax. Paying in RHEA is one approval, with no swap fee.
Can I buy a Quantus coin with NEAR?
Not in one step. A Quantus coin is paid in QTC, and its trade panel has no NEAR option, because NEAR Intents does not sell QTC. Buy QTC with NEAR on the Swap page first, then buy the coin.
I only hold NEAR. Can I buy a Zcash or stock coin?
Yes. Choose NEAR in the trade panel and it is swapped into the pair on the spot, then the coin is bought. SHARDS coins take seconds, Zcash coins about 20 seconds, stock coins usually a minute or two, with two or three approvals. The swap has its own cost and a minimum: $1 for a Zcash coin, $30 for a stock coin.
What are dividends paid in?
The coin's pair. A NEAR coin pays NEAR, a Zcash coin pays ZEC, a RHEA coin pays RHEA, a Quantus coin pays QTC, a stock coin pays the stock. Nothing is converted.
What is SHARDS?
The platform's own coin, and the first coin made on Shards. On every coin launched since pairs arrived, NEAR coins included, 10% of every tax (half of the platform's 20%) buys SHARDS and burns it, so more trading anywhere means less SHARDS.
Does the SHARDS burn cost the creator or the holders anything?
No. It comes out of what Shards earns. The creator's split and the holders' dividends are exactly what they would be without it.
What is the difference between a Shards pool and a Rhea pool?
It is where a coin graduates, chosen when it is made. A Shards pool is the coin's own pool inside its contract, on Shards. A Rhea pool is a new pool on Rhea, NEAR's largest exchange. A Rhea pool costs 1.25 NEAR to create instead of 0.5, caps the tax at 4% a side instead of 10%, and takes any pair. Every coin starts on the Shards curve either way.
Is a Rhea coin on DexScreener?
Once it has graduated and trades on Rhea, DexScreener charts it through Rhea. The token page links to it.
Does a Rhea coin still pay its tax after it graduates?
Yes, on every trade, whether it is made on Shards, on Rhea's own site or in another app. The tax is taken in the coin as it moves into or out of the pool, and divided the way the creator set it.
Does every trade burn tokens?
On a coin made since v2.5, yes. Each trade spends its own buyback share at once, buying the coin back and burning it in the same transaction.
What does it cost to create a token?
0.5 NEAR for a Shards pool, and 1.25 NEAR for a Rhea pool. The create screen shows the exact amount the contract is asking for before you sign, and that figure is the one that matters.
Can the creator change the tax after launch?
No. Both rates are written into the contract at launch and nobody can change them, including us. The one exception is a token made on v2.5 before 6 October 2026 at 16:14 UTC: until that moment the platform can replace its code, and new code could change the rates. What is fixed explains it.
What is the highest tax a token can have?
10% on buys and 10% on sells, set independently, or 4% a side on a Rhea pool. On the create screen each side is a whole percent, chosen by the creator.
How much does the platform take?
20% of every tax, on every token. On every token launched since pairs arrived, half of that (10% of the tax) buys SHARDS and burns it and half goes to the treasury. The creator divides the remaining 80% between themselves, holder dividends, buyback-and-burn and liquidity.
When does a token graduate?
When its curve has sold all 750,000,000 tokens, which is when it has taken in twice its pair's reserve: 2,000 NEAR on a NEAR coin, with a market cap of 8,000 NEAR. A coin in another pair graduates at a fixed amount of that pair, set when it was created; the market cap then is always four times the raise.
What happens when a token sells out?
Trading pauses and the pool opens on its own, usually inside a minute. Your balance is untouched. If a Shards pool is ever slow, the token page shows a button and anyone can press it. A Rhea pool has no button: the platform always opens it.
Does a graduated token move to another exchange?
Only if its creator picked a Rhea pool. Then it graduates into a pool on Rhea, and you still trade it on the same page, in the same panel. A Shards-pool token's pool lives in the same contract the curve did.
Can liquidity be pulled after graduation?
No. On a Shards pool the launch itself owns the position and cannot withdraw the principal. On a Rhea pool the positions belong to the token, and nothing can remove them. Either way there is nobody with the right to pull it.
Why did the price move so much on my trade?
Your order fills a slice at a time and each slice is dearer than the last, so you pay the average rather than the price you were shown. The trade panel estimates that before you sign.
How are holder dividends paid?
They accrue as a credit inside the launch contract, in proportion to your balance, and you claim them from the portfolio page. If your holding in a token is one of the 80 largest on Shards, they are sent to your wallet automatically once they reach 0.25 NEAR (or that much in its pair), usually within a few hours.
Do I earn dividends on a token I just bought?
You start earning from the moment you hold it. Dividends come from the tax on trades that happen after that, so a token nobody is trading pays nothing.
Can someone take over my token?
Only its future creator fees, only after 30 days of the token existing and 30 days of your wallet being silent with at least 50 NEAR of fees left unclaimed (their NEAR value, on a coin in another pair). Read community takeover.
Can you reverse a transaction or recover my funds?
No. We never hold your assets and cannot freeze, refund or return anything.
Can the code behind a token change after it launches?
Only for a token made on v2.5 before 6 October 2026 at 16:14 UTC, and only until that moment: the platform can replace its code through the factory, and every replacement is public. Every other token points at one published copy of the launch code by its code hash, and the account that holds it has no key and no method that deploys code. What it runs on its first day is what it runs on its last.
Where do the numbers on this site come from?
The same constants the contracts and the app are built from. Every figure in a diagram is read out of them when the site is built, so a drawing cannot go stale.
Which contracts does this actually run on?
The contracts is the list: every account, what each one does, and a link to its page on the public explorer.
How do I get in touch?
On X, at @shardsmarket. That is the only channel, and nobody from this project will ever ask you there for a seed phrase, a private key or a signature "to verify your wallet". Anyone who does is trying to rob you.
